begum mahal Chaugan Rayotwari mandla is a historycal Monument in Mandla area. It is a double storied building of random rubble masonry in lime mortar plastered with lime plaster. It has a domed roof and vaulted ceiling. There is an attached courtyard and a stepped well. It is known for its three storyed rectangular masterpiece of mugal architecture which was built for Chimney Rani. The marvellous black stones used to build Begum Mahal were taken from another spot of attraction, "Kala Pahad" situated 4 km from it. The Main Market of Mandla is known for its hand-craft goods.
